Hey there, I’m Dr Dan Jess. I’m a professional singer and singing teacher in Brisbane!

I take great pride in my students and work as a singing teacher to people of all different ages and skill levels. Most of my current and past students are now working with the biggest and most innovative musical theatre and opera companies located around the world.

With 18+ years’ experience teaching professional and amateur singers in Brisbane and internationally, I draw upon a broad range of advanced skills and techniques to develop your voice towards its greatest potential and power. I have performed professionally in music theatre and opera productions around the world for many years, as well as in jazz clubs and bars. Music is such a vibrant expression of your individual self, you never know where a career in performing can take you!

With multiple post-graduate voice, singing, communication and teaching qualifications, I am well-equipped to provide you the best quality and standard of singing learning experience available in Brisbane. I play the piano professionally, so I can accompany you while you learn to sing - not many other teachers can do that. My studio is well-equipped, central and easily accessed with free parking on-site, or the Brisbane City Glider Bus service to the Woolloongabba area.

I studied under great singing and performance teachers including Elizabeth Reid, Trena-Jane Reisenleiter, Cara Montaine and Richard Bonynge. I am able to teach you from beginner to advanced professional levels, and I regularly teach at conservatoriums and universities as a sessional voice lecturer and coach.
